All students of dental hygiene study the anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity. Students must know parts of teeth, supporting structures, including roots, and composition of primary and permanent sets of teeth. This basic knowledge is necessary to understand the whole process of the oral cavity development and its functioning because dental hygienist plays an important role in maintaining a healthy oral cavity, as well as helping in healing correction processes.
